Why is everyone always looking for games like wow! It is a great game, is it not?
Hi,
I just wanted to drop by and quickly say nice work- but also wanted to drop in my two cents ( or copper, it would be in WoW).
First off World of Warcraft has a free to play option ( with restrictions, of course- but it gives a good amount of the experience).
Also, pay to play isn’t bad- its what keeps games alive. I am currently Design Director for a new subscription based MMORPG, and I know the kind of costs going into a games production- especially with mmo’s that are updated monthly. The games that are free to play literally live on a hour to hour basis, and one slip up on a single day could cause havoc. The production software costs hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars each. Furthermore, the servers on these games are huge and cost a lot of money to run- especially games in WoW’s genre. It doesn’t take a guy in his room with $100 and a few free hours to make these games, it takes time and money. (Although, I’m not one of those people who believes you need millions of dollars and hundreds of employees.)
